Party spokesperson Sushmita Dev told reporters that the International Cricket Council (ICC) writing a letter to the Indian Cricket Board was a serious matter as Thakur is the BCCI Secretary.
Noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi often said that neither he will resort to corruption, nor allow others to do so, she said, therefore, it was imperative that he ordered an inquiry into the issue.
She also claimed that India's biggest betting-cum-hawala racket running into over Rs 4,000 crore has been unearthed last month in Gujarat. He alleged clear linkages to BJP leaders and police machinery in the state.
Vadakkan said that the whole issue is a matter of probe and the party would not comment till a report comes.
