Cong MLAs continue dharna in Raj House over controversial bill

Congress legislators today continued their sit-in protest inside the Rajasthan Assembly for the second day demanding the state government withdraw a bill that seeks to protect judges and public servants from investigation without its prior sanction.
The protesting MLAs, who had gone on a 'dharna' last afternoon, said their agitation would continue till their demands, including complete farm loan waiver, are not met during the ongoing session.
TheCriminal Laws (Rajasthan Amendment) Bill was tabled in the assembly on Monday by Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria, amid strong opposition from Congress.
"The sit-in protest will continue in the Well of the House till the session runs. The state government should withdraw the 'black law' and announce complete loan waiver for farmers otherwise it will lead to a mass movement in the state," Leader of Opposition Rameshwar Dudi told PTI.

"The government has constituted a high power committee to assure Rs 50,000 loan waiver to the farmers, but there are several farmers who are under debt," he claimed.
Earlier in the day, Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot met the protesting legislators in the assembly.
He alleged that the government was turning its back on the promises made to the farmers and also demanded the withdrawal of the Bill.
