"Congress leaders today met Delhi Chief Secretary S K Srivastav demanding that the former AAP-government's unannounced decision to stop old-age and widow pension and other social welfare schemes should be restored to remove the difficulties being faced by the people," Arvinder Singh said here.
"We also demanded from chief secretary that Ann Shree Yojna should not be stopped without making alternative arrangements," party's other leader Mukesh Sharma said.
Sharma said over 30,000 people's old age pension have been stopped, adding that for the first time in Delhi, the widow pension has also been stopped.
"He said that by the end of this month, around 1.5 lakh people would be provided the Food Security Scheme cards," Sharma added.
The delegation also included Ramesh Kumar, Haroon Yusuf, Mukesh Sharma, Devendra Yadav and among others.
