India decided to boycott the conference, to be held in Islamabad from September 30 to October 8, after the move by Pakistan which maintained that Jammu and Kashmir was a "disputed" territory.
"Pakistan does these purely cheap political tactics, stuntbazi. I would call it dramatics to try and insult Indian sovereignty, integrity. A meeting or a seminar is a very small thing," Congress leader Abhisek Singhvi said.
"I do not think any country can play with India's sovereignty and integrity and I think therefore we have no reason to participate with Pakistan, which is highly insecure, fragmented and is imploding... And yet wants to play such cheap games," he said.
