In state capital Patna, Congress workers burnt effigies of Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Giriraj Singh at Kargil chowk.
State Congress Vice President Ramchandra Bharti, state General Secretaries Jaya Mishra and Binod Sharma were present at the protest.
Youth Congress separately held a protest programme at Boring Road roundabout here and burnt effigy of Giriraj Singh for his comments on Sonia Gandhi.
Youth Congress workers burnt effigy of the minister in different districts, its President Kumar Ashish said.
Meanwhile, police has increased security at Giriraj Singh's residence in Anandpuri locality of the capital.
Policemen have been posted round the clock at his residence as a group of Youth Congress workers threw eggs and tomatoes at the minister's residence last night, police officials said.
