Opposition Congress in Puducherry has initiated steps to revamp the party from grass root level.
Congress, which has seven legislators in the 30-member assembly, has started nominating working presidents at block level committees as part of revamping the party, PCC President A V Subramanian said in a release here today.
He said that K Palani was appointed as the working president in Nellithope block while R P Chandran and S Sakthivel Prabhu in Karaikal North and South blocks respectively.
The party has already held a rally here against the "failure" of the Central and Puducherry governments in implementing welfare schemes in the union territory, he said.
