Mahendra Chand Ramhola, a resident of Welcome area, was sitting at an under-construction building in Seelampur at around 8 PM when two people, identified as Asif and Raheesh Khan, came on a bike and had an argument with him. They then left the spot.
"After around five minutes, the duo returned with two more men, identified as Waseem and Mahfooz, and opened fire on Ramhola who managed to save himself by ducking and then hiding in a basement," said a police official.
A police team found seven empty cartridges there. The statement of the victim has been registered and a case of attempt to murder and other sections under Indian Penal Code has been registered. The attackers appeared to have personal enmity with Ramhola, police said.
"We have identified the attackers and raids are being conducted to nab them", said a police official.
