Wading aggressively into the conversion controversy, Congress-affiliated National Students' Union of India (NSUI) has begun sending "get well soon" cards to the BJP's ideological mentor RSS and its leaders, with a wish for "prevailing of better sense" in them.
"The 'get well soon' cards are also accompanied by flowers and preamble of Indian Constitution. One of the first cards was sent to RSS headquarters at Nagpur yesterday," NSUI National Secretary Hasiba Amin said today.
Amin said the protest involves sending the cards to RSS leaders as well as its offices across the country and will be run by NSUI volunteers.
She said their action is the reaction to the "mass conversions that RSS has started doing in the name of Grih Wapasi."
"We wish you fast recovery so that your heart is filled with love, your face with smile and your life with respect for every Indian," reads the sample of a card printed by NSUI, which is supposed to be dispatched to various RSS leaders and their offices.
Amin said the campaign will also be run through social media and a separate Twitter handle has been created for the purpose.
"We will keep on sending the cards and flowers till they (RSS) get well," she added.
Various right-wing outfits like Bajrang Dal, Vishva Hindu Parishad are under fire for allegedly organising the "ghar wapsi" (reconversion) ceremony to re-induct some families in Agra and Chhattisgarh.
