Copper prices fell 0.26 per cent to Rs 328.85 per kg in futures trade today amid muted demand at the domestic spot markets and profit-booking by speculators.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November shed 85 paise or 0.26 per cent to Rs 325.85 per kg in a business turnover of 483 lots.
The metal for delivery in current month traded lower by 55 paise or 0.17 per cent to Rs 324.45 per kg in 1,676 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in copper futures to a weak trend at the domestic spot markets due to easing demand from consuming industries but metal's strength overseas capped the losses.
Globally, copper for delivery in three months climbed 2.3 per cent to USD 4,818 at London Metal Exchange.
