BSP president Mayawati on Tuesday asked the Centre and the state government to provide immediate financial assistance to the poor and daily wage earners who are facing hardships due to the lockdown amid the coronavirus outbreak.
In a tweet in Hindi, the BSP president said "Due to the massive lockdown in the country and UP following the coronavirus epidemic, life has been completely disturbed.
"Crores of poor people and daily wagers are facing starvation-like situation. Therefore it is very important that the central and state governments extend immediate proper financial assistance to them."
