Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, the film will take the viewers back in the world of 1950s.
"In my earlier films, I have always been high on energy...Smiling. But I am happy I got to attempt something different with 'Lootera'. Initially I was frustrated. I felt I couldn't do this character. I couldn't get it right. It was Vikram, who convinced me that I could do it...All thanks to him," Ranveer told reporters here at the first look launch of the film.
But 'Lootera' is set in Bengal of 1950s.
"In the film I play an intense lover. I have also cried in the film," he said.
Ranveer will be seen opposite Sonakshi Sinha in the film and the actor is all praises for her. "It was good working with her. From her I have learnt not to get hyper and stressed and remain calm," he said.
The film is scheduled to release on 5 July.
