A couple has been arrested for allegedly cheating over 600 people of about Rs 70 crore by promising them high rate of interest on their deposits and chit amounts, police said Thursday.
Sailesh Gujjar and his wife Nadini Gujjar collected huge sums of money from the people and invested them in various businesses, the police said.
Based on a complaint from 40 people, the two were arrested, a senior police official said.
