Metropolitan Magistrate Pankaj Sharma directed the promoters of the group, Ritesh Bawri, Binod Kumar Bawri and others to appear before it on November 18.
"This court is of the considered opinion that the prima facie sufficient material is on record against the accused persons for committing the offence 500 (defamation)/34 (common intention) of Indian Penal Code," the court said.
According to the petition filed by Dalmia Cement Bharat Group Ltd (DCBL) through advocate Vijay Aggarwal, the accused persons had written a letter to two investment firms in December 2015 which allegedly referred to certain irregularities committed by the complainant.
In its petition, DCBL claimed that the allegations levelled by Bawris were false and defamatory.
