"Over 28,000 border residents of Jammu district who were affected by the cross border firing in the Jammu district have been shifted to temporary shelters in Jammu," an official spokesman said.
These people belong to Arnia, Trewa, Nikowal, Zora farm, Suchetgarh, Adbullian, Chinore area, Pragwal, Garghal and Hamirpurkona of Jammu district.
The spokesman said that while 29 farm animals were killed, 85 others were injured in the cross border firing from the Pakistani side.
The official said that 13 teams from the animal husbandry department and four teams from the sheep husbandry department have been constituted to provide immediate veterinary care and treatment to the injured animals.
