Crude oil for delivery in July shed Rs 27, or 0.68%, to Rs 3,934 per barrel, with a business volume of 123 lots in futures trading at Multi Commodity Exchange.
Oil prices for June delivery moved down Rs 23, or 0.59%, to Rs 3,895 per barrel, with a business volume of 2,045 lots.
Marketmen said the fall was mostly in step with a weakening trend in Asian trade today. Prices were also affected as dealers awaited the latest US energy stock report amid concerns about a sustained global supply glut.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude oil for delivery in July was down 35 cents to $60.9. Brent, on the other hand, for July eased 27 cents to $65.22 a barrel in late-morning trade on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
