Curfew continues in Hazaribagh, body found at clash spot

A body was found in Hazaribagh town today even as the district administration decided to continue with the indefinite curfew, which was imposed yesterday in the town and its surrounding areas.
The district administration decided to continue with the indefinite curfew after the body was found, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Kumar said at a press conference here.
The body with a slit throat, bore stab injuries in the abdomen, he said.
Kumar said the day remained peaceful and there was no report of any untoward incident.
"We will review every day whether relaxation can be given or it should continue for a few more days," he said.

The administration used public address system during the day, appealing people not to listen to rumours and inform the administration about any incident.

The Deputy Commissioner said action would be taken under IT Act if mischief through WhatsApp or other social media platform was caught.
Superintendent of Police Akhilesh Kumar Jha, who was also present at the news conference, said the police have identified the people from Kud Rewali, who had played an objectionable CD despite a ban on use of such materials during religious festivals like Ram Navami procession.
An FIR has been filed against them and six persons were arrested and a few others detained in connection with the playing of the objectionable CD.

Six police personnel, including an assistant sub-inspector, were being treated for wounds which they suffered in the clashes by two groups yesterday, Jha said.
The SP said personnel from Rapid Action Force, CRPF, District Armed Police and Jharkhand Armed Police have been deployed at adjoining villages of Kud Rewali, Sultana, Masratu and Romi for security and to build confidence among residents.
Yesterday, the Deputy Commissioner had said a large number of police personnel were injured in the clashes.
Curfew was clamped in Hazaribagh and its surrounding areas yesterday after two groups of people clashed, torched shops and pelted stones at policemen injuring many of them on the last day of the Ram Navami festival.
