Customs official held for taking bribe

A superintendent of the Customs and Central Excise in Andhra Pradesh was arrested by CBI for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
A case was registered on May 9 under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 against A Satish Kumar, of Kurnool Division on the basis of a complaint that he demanded bribe for an official favour, a release from the CBI's anti-corruption branch in Hyderabad said today.
The central agency laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting Rs 10,000 from the complainant on May 9, the release said.
He was subsequently arrested and searches were conducted at his residence here, it said.
"Some incriminating documents have been seized," the release said adding that the case is under investigation.
