Dal Khalsa demands stricter law against rapists

Expressing anguish over the gang-rape of a 23-year-old woman on Sunday, party spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh and youth wing head Ranbir Singh said there was no doubt that the brutality of the incident had shaken every sensible person.

On the quantum of punishment in cases such as this, they said, "Death penalty is not a deterrent to any crime."

It should be life imprisonment till death, without parole, they said.

The two also condemned police action on protesters who were staging a demonstration in the national capital today.
