Sukhchain Singh, who was allegedly involved in illicit liquor trade, was tortured to death and his leg chopped off by his rivals here on Monday night.
"We have arrested all the six accused for the murder of Sukhchain," Mansa SSP Mukhwinder Singh said today.
Three accused Balbir Singh, Hardeep Singh, and Sadhu Singh were nabbed on October 12 while fourth Babrik Singh was taken into custody on October 13, police said.
These six accused were charged with the murder of Sukhchain.
After all the accused were arrested, the family of Sukchain cremated the body, the SSP informed.
Yesterday Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal in her tweet said, "The State will not allow the emergence of any gangs in the liquor trade & anyone indulging in any such activity should be arrested."
The brutal murder was a fallout of inter-gang rivalry and that the two groups had been involved in clashes in the past too, police had said.
Sukhchain Singh and his friends were called by the other group on the pretext of settling a dispute on Monday.
His body was recovered from the house of Balbir, one of the accused, police had said.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment and Punjab BJP chief Vijay Sampla today directed the Deputy Commissioner of Mansa to provide a monetary help of Rs 8.25 lakh to the victim's family.
The monetary help which is mandated under the Prevention of Atrocities Act will be disbursed in 2 equal installments, he said.
