Several Doordarshan producers today staged a protest here seeking release of funds for programmes, which they claimed were selected by the broadcaster but later left in a limbo.
A group of producers gathered outside the Doordarshan headquarters to press for their demands, and later met senior officials of Prasar Bharati and Doordarshan, one of the protesting producers said.
The producers claimed that the broadcaster had initially given its nod for several programmes for channels like DD Kashir, DD Urdu, DD North East, DD Bharti and DD India etc, but later left them in a limbo.
Another producer said they had raised their demands and given memorandums to the authorities concerned.
"We will hold more protests in the coming days, if no action is taken," he said.
