A delegation of BJP leaders today met Lt Governor Najeeb Jung and urged him to seek a report from the Delhi government on various issues including the controversial circular issued by it threatening action against the media for any defamatory news.
"BJP leaders gave detailed memorandums to the Lt. Governor on issues such as circular brought out by the Delhi government to throttle the media and socio-political freedom of speech and compensation to farmers for crop loss and to the family of the DTC driver who was killed in a road rage incident," a senior BJP leader said.
After meeting with Jung, Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay, who led the party delegation, said, "We have requested him to seek a report from the Chief Secretary on the issues of anti-media circular, inadequate compensation to farmers and Delhi government's dual standards in giving compensation to the families of government employees dying on duty.
