The turnover of these companies was shown to be Rs 228.07 crore in 2013-14 but during physical verification by the authorities, these companies were found non-existent.
Input Tax Credit of Rs 1.38 crore was also disallowed during this week.
"Last week Value Added Tax inspectors visited various premises and numerous high risk dealers were found with bogus declared turnover of Rs 228.07 crore for the year 2013-14... Registration certificates of such dealers were cancelled," Commissioner (Trade & Tax) Sanjiv Khirwar said today.
Khirwar said the department has collected tax of Rs 10,556.85 crore till date, which is an increase of Rs 724.69 crore as compared to previous year.
"Raids will continue and action against such bogus sales and purchase would be intensified," said Khirwar.
