The entertainment tax branch of the Delhi government has issued an order following the direction of Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal.
The Under-17 World Cup will be held in six cities -- Kolkata, Margao, Navi Mumbai, Kochi, Guwahati and New Delhi -- from October 6-28.
"The Lt Governor of National Capital Territory of Delhi is pleased to exempt from entertainment tax the event titled "FIFA Under-17 World Cup 2017" to be held from October 6 to October 28, 2017 at Jawarlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi," the order stated.
Yesterday, FIFA U-17 World Cup's tournament director Javier Ceppi had said India will see a brand of football it has not witnessed so far, in the upcoming mega-event.
