Promila, a third year student of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at a leading private college in Siyani Gate area, was apparently upset over alleged harassment by her college following which she took the extreme step, they said.
Police have recovered a suicide note from Promila's room at her residence, where she hanged herself from the ceiling fan in the wee hours.
"We have got to know that Promila had been upset for the last few days. Police have recovered her suicide note and would also interrogate her college director, principal, teacher and classmates to ascertain the exact reason behind her taking the extreme step," a senior police official said.
