All central government departments have been asked to regularly update online the details of action taken reports on the key decisions taken by the Cabinet and its committees.
A portal--eSamiksha--has already been set up where follow up action in respect of each decision is to be updated by the department concerned on regular basis.
The Cabinet Secretariat has recently asked all the secretaries of central government departments that the action taken reports being uploaded by them "are required to reflect specific implementation status on each point in the decisions or directions of the Cabinet and the Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs".
Accordingly, all the departments have been asked to review their uploaded action taken reports on the eSamiksha portal so that they clearly reflect the point-wise implementation status vis-a-vis the approval accorded. The review may be completed by August 31, it said.
ESamiksha is a real time, online system meant initially for monitoring of follow up action on the decisions taken during the presentations made by different departments to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The government is now monitoring implementation of decisions taken in meetings of Cabinet or its committees.
Cabinet Secretary P K Sinha had in October last year written to all secretaries to inform that the system has been upgraded for monitoring the progress on implementation of Cabinet decisions as also the important observations or suggestions pertaining to each ministry and department.
All departments have been given their login ID and password to access the portal whose monitoring is done by the Cabinet Secretariat.
