When Lord Shiva selected his younger son Ganesha as his successor, Lord Kartikey, who reached at this place, started living here. From that time onwards the place came to be known as Achal (Immovable).
It is also known that the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev, came to this holy place and argued with the saints, who were promoting the social evils like 'sati pratha', child marriage and untouchability which were prominent during that time, and thus a historical Gurudwara is also situated along with the temple showing harmony between the two communities.
Achleshwar Kar Seva Trust president Pawan Kumar said many sadhus and saints from far away places had reached the temple premises and more than thirty 'havan kunds' have been installed by them all around the temple sarovar where the yajna is being performed round the clock.
