DFCC imparts skill training to 1039 people

More than 1000 persons were imparted skill training by Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation (DFCC), under the Ministry of Railways, in various of its centres across the country.
Under the initiative, job oriented skill training was provided to empower project-affected and BPL families living along the Eastern and Western Corridors of the project.
1039 learners completed their training successfully in 13 centres in Mumbai, Jaipur, Tundla and Allahabad regions as part of the first phase of Project Saksham, a CSR initiative of DFCC, according to a senior DFCC official.
The official said the process of placement has been initiated at all the centres and 34 learners in Maharashtra and 33 students in Rajasthan have already been placed.
The candidates got trained in nine different trades including data entry operation, electrical, courier delivery, hospitality and retails sales, the official said.
DFCC, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) is engaged in planning, construction, operation and maintenance of the 'Dedicated Freight Corridors' and in the first phase the two corridors, namely Eastern Corridor from Ludhiana to Dankuni (1,840 kms) in West Bengal and the Western Corridor from Dadri in UP to Jawahar Lal Nehru Port (JNPT) in Mumbai (1,502 kms) are being constructed.
The Western Corridors is being funded by Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA), while the Eastern Corridor from Mughalsarai to Ludhiana is being funded by the World Bank.
