Hrithik underwent a brain surgery on last Sunday for removal of a two-month-old clot, which was caused following a head injury while he was performing a stunt for his upcoming film 'Bang Bang'.
He was discharged from the hospital today.
Dharmendra, who is currently in the US to attend a wedding, got to know of Hrithik's surgery and called him up to check on his health.
Dharmendra made enquires about Hrithik's surgery and asked him to be careful while performing stunts, source close to the actor said.
Meanwhile, Hrithik's good friend and filmmaker Karan Johar gifted him a personalised DVD of his latest home production 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani'.
The 39-year-old actor has seen all of Karan's films, but couldn't make it to the special screening of this movie.
