The Uttar Pradesh Director of Communicable Diseases, Dr MK Gupta, came with a team of doctors from Lala Lajpat Rai Medical College, to examine patients ill with fever at government hospitals here.
Following their visit, the team rejected fears of epidemic and said that the cases were of simple viral fever, common during change of season.
Upon examining the patients, the team concluded that the sudden increase in the number of cases of the fever was due to unhygienic living conditions in the area.
Meanwhile, Moradabad commissioner Shankar Singh, too, visited the area and gave instructions to the SDM and other officers about the situation.
"Extra staff of medical, paramedical, sanitation and administration members has been posted in Bhojpur town and nearby villages and all facilities are being provided to the patients," he said.
