The court also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 each.
The special gangster court also sentenced three other accused in the same case Krishna Shetty, Jitendra Pandey and Paramjeet to three years imprisonment and slapped a penalty of Rs 25,000 each, prosecution said here.
Special judge BD Naqvi passed the order on the case lodged against Babloo and others in 2003.
In April 2003, a case was lodged against them at Alambagh police station here alleging that they were operating a gang from the jail.
During surveillance it was revealed that the gang was not only involved in extortion and land grabbing, but was also planning to abduct a producer of Mumbai and a trader of Kathmandu, he said.
On the basis of evidences the court held Babloo and four others guilty, whereas five others Anand, Yunus, Ranjit Bahadur, Pradeep Gupta and Atul Gupta were acquitted for lack of evidence.
