"The Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) would conduct a rating exercise of all the RWAs in the city based on pre-determined assessment tools as part of the thematic drive, 'Swachh RWA.
"The results of these would then be shared with the public at large, in order to create awareness among them regarding their current RWA ratings and how they can work up to improve the same," an official release said.
During the 'Swachh RWA' thematic drive between July 1-15, the ministry plans to recognise the members of various colonies and societies who have been doing exemplary work on various 'Swachh' initiatives by felicitating the best housing society.
According to a release, the ministry is also planning to organise workshops across the country for select RWAs who are already working towards the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) in its bid to increase engagement at the community level..
At these workshops, the RWAs would be guided on how to set-up decentralised solid and liquid waste management at societal level itself.
Besides, community toilets would also be constructed within the selected RWA premises under the current drive.
Relevant vendors would also be invited for the workshop to showcase their expertise and products, it said.
Through the innovative concept of 'Thematic Drives', the Ministry aims to identify different sectors, in order to reinforce the message of the Swachh Bharat Mission in a focused manner across different areas.
The last thematic drive conducted between May 16 and 31 was for improving cleanliness at Government offices and buildings, which saw countrywide participation from government officials.
