"We will issue fresh summons in June to Damanvir Singh in order to question him for his links with drug lord Jagdish Singh Bhola," an Enforcement Directorate official told PTI today on condition of anonymity.
Damanvir was earlier served summons by ED in February, March and April to join the investigation.
However, citing poor health, Damanvir had sought more time to join the investigation, the ED official said.
Damavir's name cropped up during the inquiry into the dealings of drug racket kingpin and sacked Punjab police DSP Jagdish Singh Bhola.
ED is carrying out its investigation into the case under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Punjab police had last year busted a major drug racket in the state and nabbed Bhola, who allegedly used to supply narcotics to the USA and some European countries.
"My family is not involved at all in it (drug racket)," he told reporters here today.
"The media reports have no basis in truth and are totally false and grossly misleading... Yet I am resigning from the Council of Ministers on moral grounds to uphold the highest traditions of our party," he said.
