Due cognizance will be taken: Jitendra on Jamiat Ahle Hadees land issue

Union Minister Jitendra Singh said today due cognizance would be taken by the Centre about a proposal for grant of land to Jamiat Ahle Hadees in Jammu and Kashmir.

"Due cognizance will be taken whatever comes to light. I am sure the government has already taken cognizance of it as I am not directly dealing with it," Singh told reporters here today.

The minister said he felt the Union Home Ministry would have taken cognizance of it, if there is any pitfall. He was replying to a question that the Mehbooba Mufti government, BJP's alliance partner, was in the process of granting a huge plot of land to Jamiat Ahle Hadees.

The Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, has written a letter to Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, to furnish his report with comments with regard to allotment of land for Eidgah to Jamiat Ahle Hadees outfit.

The secretary general of Jamiat Ahle Hadees in J&K had approached the chief minister with a representation reqesting allotment of land for Eidgah on permanent basis at proposed sites Khadi mill at Allochibagh, behind court complex Mooninabad and Diary farm near Bemina crossing in Srinagar city, the letter said.

A proposal of this organisation to setup a university was grounded by the Congress-NC government after the bill was sent to a select committee in 2010 session.

Singh also said as far as the Modi government was concerned, it was following a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism.

To a question about two youths being lynched in Jharkhand, he said law will take own course. "BJP does not condone crime anywhere whosoever be the person committing it," he added.
