"The advertisement for the post of principal which appeared in newspapers in July, 2014, is based on the UGC rules of 2010 for eligibility for principalship.
"(But) UGC had modified its criteria in 2013, which was adopted by the varsity's Executive Council (EC)," DU Teachers' Association President Nandita Narain said in a letter to the college's chairman.
"Following the move, certain candidates have been invited for interviews who, as per the latest UGC rules of minimum eligibility, are not qualified for the post of principal," she added.
DUTA demanded that the interviews be postponed and a fresh, valid advertisement be issued in accordance with the revised UGC rules of June, 2013.
The college authorities were not immediately available for comments.
