"We are examining the matter and only if an offence is made out, action can be taken," Punjab Chief Electoral Officer V K Singh said here.
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) had yesterday written to the Punjab Chief Electoral Officer seeking registration of a case against Kejriwal for alleged sacrilege of holy book at Muktsar and Lambi, spreading communal hatred and hobnobbing with terrorist outfits.
To a query regarding complaint against Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Mohammad Mustafa, the Punjab CEO said that he had been advised to stay at his headquarters till the elections.
"He (DGP) has been advised to remain at his headquarters till the polling date," Singh said.
The electoral officer said that he had personally monitored the situation at Malerkotla from where Razia Sultana, wife of Mustafa, has been fielded by Congress.
SAD had earlier lodged a complaint with EC against the Punjab DGP for allegedly coercing voters to support his wife's candidature.
