"An officer of the rank of Joint Commissioner of Police in the city is inquiring into it," OSD in CEO's office Amit Roy Chowdhury said here today.
The inquiry was ordered on the basis of complaint of the District Election Officer (DEO), Kolkata North lodged at a local police station pointing out that the logbook of the strongroom was missing.
Altogether 3,100 EVMs were stored in a godown in the premises of the MLA Hostel on the Kyd Street between December 17 and December 28 last year.
But during dispatch of the EVMs to distribution centres on April 25, it was found the logbook of the strongroom was missing.
