Education officer wins legal battle a day before retirement
The bench of Justice N N Tiwari quashed Jharkhand government's suspension order against Regional Deputy Director of Education (Kolhan Division) Nagendra Thakur on the ground that the order was without jurisdiction.
Thakur moved the High Court after he was suspended on October 15 last year for alleged administrative negligence following some financial irregularities detected in 2006.
In his writ, Thakur contended that the irregularities was detected when he was posted in Hazaribagh district and the vigilance department had let him off following an investigation into the case as there was no evidence against him.
