The militants were killed in a fire exchange with the armed forces, military spokesperson Mohamed Samir said.
The security forces also destroyed 12 motorcycles belonging to the terrorists, he added.
North Sinai has been at the heart of many violent attacks by Islamist militants since the January 2011 revolution that toppled the regime of former President Hosni Mubarak.
The military has launched frequent security raids in the area, arrested suspects and demolished houses sheltering terrorists. Tunnels leading to the Gaza Strip have also been destroyed during the campaigns.
Many policemen and soldiers have been killed in the attacks which included bombings and shootings.
