Elaborate security arrangements planned for New Year: IG Jammu

"Officers should remain extremely vigilant and alert during Christmas Day and new year celebrations and on Republic Day," Singh said after a review meeting with senior officials here.

For lasting peace in the region, it is imperative to launch sustained offensive against people involved in anti-national activities, he said.

The approach of Jammu police needs to be people friendly ensuring best possible security environment with least inconvenience, he said.

In the meeting, the IG also review the security arrangements for Republic Day.

A team of officers comprising SSP Security ,SSP Jammu, SP CID SB Jammu, have been tasked with the responsibility for visiting the important locations and ensuring a foolproof security arrangement, he said.
