The murder of Manjula Vora came to light this evening when her doctor, who used to visit everyday to check the health of Vora and her 70-year-old mentally challenged brother, came and found that a man in his 20s fleeing after opening the door of her fifth floor apartment Pranav Residnecy situated near Nappu garden in Matunga east, police said.
A senior police official of Mumbai police confirmed the murder but did not divluge any further information.
This evening, the doctor noticed that the door was locked from inside and no one was opening it despite several knocks, police said.
The picture of the accused has been captured on the CCTV of the building, they said, adding in the CCTV footage the accused is seen wearing a cap, an handkerchief on his mouth and having a plastic bag in his hand.
Further probe is on, police said.
