Apparently depressed due to unemployment, a 48-year-old man allegedly strangled his septuagenarian mother in southwest Delhi's Sagarpur area.
The accused made a PCR call after committing the crime this morning, said a senior police officer.
Laxmi Naidu (74) was strangled with a plastic pipe by her son Laxman. He said he was unemployed and was under depression due to it, police said.
He told police that he could not afford to bear her expenses.
