The victim, Sandeep Dass, had been driving the private bus for the last three years, police said.
Suspecting some problem with the front tyre of the bus yesterday he got down to see what the issue was when he got crushed under it, they said.
The bus did not have any passengers and only the conductor was present inside at the time of the incident.
He heard Dass's cries for help and saw that he had been crushed under the bus. It is suspected that the jack he had put came unhinged and the bus crushed him, police said.
Police have ruled out foul play in the incident.
