Election Commissioner Ashok Lavasa today visited the Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) here to review the production of EVMs and VVPATs at the PSU major.
He issued instructions to concerned officials, a release from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana said.
"Ashok Lavasa, Election Commissioner of India has visited ECIL today forenoon (11.7.2018) along with the Deputy Election Commissioner Sudeep Jain to review the position on production of EVMs and VVPATs at the ECIL and issued suitable instuctions to the concerned officials," the release said.
The Election Commissioner reviewed with the Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana and the Chief Electoral Officer of Andhra Pradesh on the preparedness of both states for the ensuing Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly elections, the release said.
Legislative Assembly elections in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh would be held along with the Lok Sabha elections next year.
