Elephants damage ICDS, crops in village

The herd comprising around 130 elephants entered Chandabilla village late last night from neighbouring Mayurbhanj district in Odisha and ransacked the ICDS centre and damaged the standing crops, the sources said.
The elephants also damaged crops in Kotash, Tapovan, Kashia and Pathardhara villages, they said.
The villagers alongwith Forest officials tried to drive away the herd by lightning flames and bursting crackers.
