Elephants leave Cuttack

A herd of elephants, which had
strayed into the city today went back to a river islet close to the Athgarh forest range.
Foresters were guarding an embankment to ensure that the elephants did not return to the city, forest officials said.
The elephants numbering seven adults and some baby elephants had entered Cuttack after crossing the Mahanadi River yesterday.
They took shelter in a forest area near a park and stayed put creating panic among the city residents.
