Engineer commits suicide after tongue lashing by mother

Irked by his mother berating him for coming home late among other issues, an engineer allegedly committed suicide by hanging at his residence here today, police said.
The 23-year-old man, son of a fruit shop owner, had gone to a temple at Kuranganchavadi this morning and on his return, was asked by his mother why he had returned late.
When he replied he had gone to the temple, his mother rebuked him and asked him how he could do so after eating meat dishes, they said
The man then locked himself in his room and hung from the ceiling fan, police said.
