Superintendent of Police Arvind Sen and Additional District Magistrate J K Singh reached the spot where former SP MLA Seepu's relatives were on strike last night and gave written assurance that their demand has been accepted, police said.
Seepu's family then announced to end the strike, police said.
The Uttar Pradesh government yesterday recommended CBI probe into the alleged murder of Seepu.
The family had also demanded Rs 25 lakh compensation to family of those killed and Rs 10 lakh each to those injured in police firing during protests which broke out over Seepu's death.
Three motorcycle-borne assailants had fired at Seepu in front of his house on July 19, killing him and another person -- Narad Rai -- on the spot, which had triggered clashes between his supporters and police that left three persons dead and 18 injured.
