"Govind Sharma died of burn injuries when fire broke out after a gas cylinder blast in a tomato sauce-making factory at Ashwamegh complex in Memco area," said Additional Chief Fire Officer Rajesh Bhatt.
Sharma who sustained severe burn injuries was rushed to nearby civil hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment, he said.
The blaze was brought under control by two fire vans, the officer said.
Another officer at the Fire Control room said on condition of anonymity that the explosion occurred following the leakage of gas from the cylinder, setting off the blaze.
