Fadnavis hails HC decision on cluster redevelopment

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today said that with the Bombay High Court allowing a hike in FSI for new buildings proposed to be built Mumbai under the cluster redevelopment scheme, the government can now speed up that work.
"As per the earlier decision of GoM, this cluster redevelopment will be done in an area of 6,000 sq mt and more," Fadnavis tweeted.
This will pave a way for planned development with availability of more public amenities, using the spaces more wisely, he said.
Fadnavis said that 30-year-old buildings would be covered in this redevelopment and 50 per cent area of slum will also be included.

"Hon'ble High Court passed this order taking into account Govt of Maharashtra's impact assessment report," he tweeted.
In a reprieve for the state government, the HC today vacated a stay granted on allowing increase in the floor space index (FSI) for new buildings proposed to be constructed in Navi Mumbai under the state's cluster redevelopment scheme.
A division bench of Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and Justice N M Jamdar said the stay granted in September 2014 stands vacated as the government has obtained an environment impact assessment report in support of its proposal for cluster development.
