The party also accused Congress of being responsible for the crisis, saying Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had been propped up by it and it was a "joint operation" between the two parties.
"There is on display a 'Federation of Anarchists' on the streets of Delhi," BJP leader Arun Jaitley said while commenting on Kejriwal's dharna to press for suspsension of some police personnel.
"Today a party which aspires to become a national party de facto threatens to disturb the Republic Day. Its conduct is a challenge to constitutionalism," he said, adding the members of AAP comprise "supporters of the separatists in Jammu & Kashmir and the maoists in Chhattisgarh".
"Today Kejriwal has said Republic Day celebration is nothing but a procession of floats. This is an insult to the nation, to the people and to the defence forces. Country got its Constitution on this day and such language is a challenge to the Constitution as well," he said, adding Kejriwal is "talking like Naxals do in tribal areas".
Describing Kejriwal's protest as nothing but anarchy, Jaitley said "anarchy cannot be alternative politics".
He also blamed Congress for the "crisis", saying it supported AAP just to keep BJP out of power as Kejriwal did not have mandate to rule Delhi with BJP bagging more seats than AAP.
